Maximize your iRacing Arcade Career Team Level with Goals and XP

Through the first seven weeks since the release of iRacing Arcade on Steam, we’ve talked about Starting a Career, Competing in Races, Building a Campus, the Cars and Tracks available in the game, and most recently, the Boosts available during a Career run. This week, the focus shifts back to a more overarching topic regarding advancement, and that is the Team Level and how to increase it.

There are two main components into advancing through an iRacing Arcade Career, and they are Money and XP. Money can only buy so much, like the cars, the campus buildings, and other accessories such as liveries, race suits, and helmets.

What unlocks those cars and buildings as players progress through the iRacing Arcade Career is the Team Level. Starting at Level 1 and maxing out at Level 20, each level earned will get Arcaders one step closer to being able to build anything on their campus, or buying out every car, livery, and accessory available.

Just how do players increase their Team Level? Well, it’s all about hitting those Goals.

By clicking on the Team Level in the top left corner of the Race Week menu, or the Goals button in the center on the bottom, Arcaders will be able to see how they are able to earn XP and what they need to accomplish to get those XP points.

EARNING XP ON AND OFF THE TRACK

There are four different categories under the Goals menu. The first two Goals categories are SERIES and DRIVING, the two that will earn XP by what is accomplished on the track. The other two Goals categories are CUSTOMIZATION and CAMPUS, which involve tasks off the track, on a player’s Campus and in their Garage.

  • SERIES Goals are the most basic of tasks that include winning championships at different difficulties. Every series championship won for the first time will yield XP. However, going back and winning them again at higher difficulty will earn more XP. Winning them at the highest level to start with earns the XP for that difficulty and every difficulty below that. There’s a hidden level of difficulty called Alien that unlocks for all championships once a title is won on Superstar difficulty.
  • DRIVING Goals are going to involve actions on the track during races. Challenges such as completing Overtakes, or completing Last to First challenges will add up to eventually completing those goals. Players earn XP for completing these tasks. Some are as simple as overtaking 15 times, or more intricate such as starting last and finishing first a number of times.
  • CUSTOMIZATION Goals pertain to the different ways to look on track. From unlocking and owning different Visors to filling up your Garage with as many vehicles as allowed, XP is earned from what players do to add and change their character in the Garage. Players will need Money for this, obviously, so these goals will come following the successes on the track.
  • Last but not least, the CAMPUS Goals are simply the Goals achieved by building things on the iRacing Arcade Campus. Specifically, XP is earned by building each Tier of the Chassis Shop, R&D Center, Engine Shop, and Team HQ.

UNLOCK CARS AND SERIES AT A HIGHER TEAM LEVEL

Goals shouldn’t be too difficult to accomplish. At any rate, increasing that Team Level is crucial to advancing an iRacing Arcade Career. At certain levels, specific cars and series will unlock. It’s OK to race these series without owning the car, as once it is unlocked, players can rent the car instead at a reduced prize rate. Also, Boosts are unavailable for Rentals.

With that said, players can own as many of a single car as their Garage space allows. So, if Arcaders want eight GTPs in their inventory, all with different liveries installed, that is completely their prerogative.

A higher Team level also unlocks new Campus things and building tiers. It is completely up to each player to determine what goals to go after to gain XP and increase their Team Level. Have fun with it!
